The California Republican Assembly (CRA) is “The Conscience of the Republican Party” – President Ronald Reagan
The CRA has 57 chapters throughout California. It will soon have 58 chapters. John Turnacliff has started an effort to create a Marin County chapter, which requires two local meetings attended by at least 15 people both witnessed by a CRA official.
An initial meeting of the Marin County CRA chapter was held a Sam’s Restaurant in Novato on October 18, 2023 at 6:00 pm. Over 20 patriots attended that meeting. John was elected to become the President of the Marin County chapter. The local Bylaws were adopted and 3 straw polls were taken, one to endorse Tief Gibbs Jensen for US House District 2, another to endorse Francis Drouillard for Marin County Supervisor District 4 and yet another to endorse Donald J. Trump for president.
The next meeting of the Marin CRA will be held on October 30, 2023. Place and time TBD. That meeting will be used to nominate and elect a Vice President, a Secretary and a Treasurer to complete our Board of Officers. The duties of the chapter Officers are described in the Bylaws above. That meeting will fulfill the initial meetings requirement to become a CRA chapter. We’ll then be able to formally endorse candidates, and those endorsements will be recognized by the state CRA.
Attendees that have joined the state CRA and paid their dues will be allowed to raise New Business. One item sure to come up at the next meeting is the time and venue for future meetings. A strong preference was expressed by several attendees to start the meetings later in the evening or locate them in southern Marin County to beat the evening traffic rush. All suggested times and locations are welcome and will be discussed and subjected to a vote.
If you’re interested in attending the next MCRA meeting, please email meic@ourmarin.org with “MCRA” in the subject line.
